Keon Polee San Diego Concert reviews
X Ambassadors stole the show! Loved them.
The concert was a disappointment in all honesty. I have been a fan of Keon Polee for 4 years now since their first EP's started coming out, but I hated it. They did not sound very good live. It may have been the error of an inexperienced sound person, but often vocals were drowned out by instrumentals, which are fairly basic to say the least. Often making the songs unrecognizable, other songs you could see Dan trying to sing louder to compensate but it just turned out to seem as though he was trying too hard. We actually ended up leaving early because we were just so disappointed with the quality.
The envy corps made me envious of people not having to sit there and listen to them. Their instrumentals were more so just noise than music. Often vocals just turned into random screaming or just trailed off in the middle of the song and weren't continued. It was hard to tell if they were supposed to be hyping the crowd up or prepare them for the disappointment to come. Won't be purchasing any EP's or Albums coming for them in the future.
The one highlight of my night was the opening band called "X Ambassadors." They were absolutely fantastic and have just released their first EP under a month ago. I would surely love to think they'll go far and definitely would love to get tickets for a concert they do in the future. I have already bought their EP and it is just as good recorded as it is live (and it's not every day you get to say that). They were unreal and got the crowd going more than the envy corps or even Keon Polee did. Even more amazing, their keyboardist who was totally rocking out and sounding absolutely amazing the entire time, is BLIND. He was so amazingly talented like the rest of the band, but that just completely thrilled me. Nothing the rest stood up to their act. If this had been just them playing, they definitely would have gotten 5 stars from me. Would love to see them again and hope it's soon! Love the X Ambassadors! Everyone should definitely search up their EP "Love songs Drug songs" and help them get further because they definitely deserve it.
